Mood: Living to kitesurf :-)
20th October 2006
Kite surfing: Shoreham Beach
Wind Direction: SW
Wind Stength: +/- 17kts
Surf / Sea State: Small lumps
Air Temperature: 13
Sea Temperature: warmish
Weather: cloudy
Max Speed:
Distance Covered:

Hooked up with my buddy Paul and we went down to Shoreham at Low Tide -3hours. Wind had gone from ballistic to nothing, and was now re-filling to a respectable 12-15kts.

Rigged up the 11m GK Sonic and flailed about in the shallows as per. At least the kite felt pretty good this time.

Did plenty of \'almost-but-not-quite\' up on the board runs before deciding rather foolishly to attempt the GK depower system. Ended up with kite in the water and me trying to undo the knots I was told to put in the depower line. Paul, on the other hand, merely has to pull a strap on his Flexifoil.

So 15 minutes and a relaunch later, the kite is then oversheeted and just collapses in on itself before dropping out of the sky and getting washed into a mess by the waves. I realise that the main bladder is underinflated and suspect a slow puncture. Pump it up, sort out the lines, and get out again but by this time, despite the conditions being perfect, my legs don\'t seem to work and I keep going over the front of the board.

A good sesh in all, but I very much regret buying 2nd hand. I lost half an hour\'s playtime today and it looks like I might need to buy a new bladder. Grr.
